Abbey Hey came from 1-0 behind against FC United to pick up a shock, albeit a well deserved 3-1 victory.
FC took the lead inside the first 15mins with a strike from Adam Carden. Abbey Hey drawn level 10mins before the intervel after Danny Heffernan coverted a crotroversial penalty, after it seemed the Abbey Hey player was brought down outside the box. The second half seen FC United put Abbey Hey under relentless pressure, but Abbey goalkeeper, Steve Downs did well to keep FC at bay. A headed goal in the 75min from Daniel Doherty gave the Gorton team a shock. A couple of minutes before the end of the game an Abbey Hey Substitue caught the FC goalkeeper, Sam Ashton of his line and secured the 3-1.
If this game is to go anything by, then maybe Abbey Hey will look forward to a good season in the North West Counties Premier Division. Abbey Hey stood up to FC, a team two leagues above them. Roll on next Saturday
